BET+ Sets Release Date For ‘The Accused,’ Starring Lawrence Saint-Victor & Paige Audrey-Marie Hurd

The original streaming movie is set to premiere Thursday, April 10 on BET+.

Lawrence Saint-Victor (Carter Walton, “The Bold and the Beautiful”) is set to take on corruption as a detective in the BET+ original movie, “The Accused.”

Set to premiere Thursday, April 10 on the preeminent streaming service for Black audiences, Saint-Victor will play Detective Lance Branson, a dedicated and hard-working police detective who balances his demanding career with the responsibilities of being a husband and father-to-be. 

A man of integrity, deeply committed to justice, and often going above and beyond in his investigations, Lance’s latest case sees him seeking out the truth when a brilliant plant geneticist is framed for her fiance’s murder.

EXCLUSIVE: Margaret Colin (Independence Day) has signed on to lead the indie flick Tox

Written and directed by Kerri Lynn Miller in her feature directorial debut, the film also stars Gracie McGraw. Miller also stars in the film. Her acting credits include FBI: Most Wanted, The Blacklist, and Shades of Blue. 

The film follows a perfection-obsessed woman who, after decades of transforming herself, eagerly returns to her high school reunion— convinced that her newfound beauty will rewrite her past and win the validation she believes will fix her life. 

“Tox explores the addictive nature of perfectionism and the devastating grip of body dysmorphia, a condition that affects over 10 million people in the U.S. alone,” Miller said in a statement. “This film is a deeply personal, thrilling, and thought-provoking examination of society’s obsession with beauty, and self-worth.”

Jeremy Piven, William Moseley, Tim McInnerny & Pixie Lott Set For ‘Past Life’ With UK Band James Producing Score

EXCLUSIVE: Jeremy Piven (Entourage), William Moseley (The Chronicles of Narnia), Tim McInnerny (Gladiator 2) and singer and actress Pixie Lott (Christmas Karma) are due to star in psychological-thriller Past Life. Film Mode Entertainment has boarded sales on the project, which is aiming to start filming in February 2025 in Manchester, UK.

Past Life follows Jason Frey (Moseley), an investigative reporter who reluctantly agrees to attend a hypnotism event with his pregnant wife Claira (Lott). Under hypnosis, Jason witnesses a murder through the eyes of a psychotic killer. Haunted by what he has seen, Jason partners with the hypnotist (Piven) to use ‘past life regression’ techniques to investigate a series of unsolved murders from the 1980s while unwittingly reawakening a psychotic killer’s tendencies.

William FichtnerEmily Hall and Caroline Concannon have joined the cast of the Michael Mailer Films and Tremendous Entertainment film Cutman

The film is helmed by producer-director/co-writer Michael Mailer (Blind, Heart of Champions).

Cutman delves into the underworld of a retired boxer, played by Fichtner, who grapples with a terminal illness while reluctantly serving as an enforcer for low-level mobsters. Haunted by the memory of his deceased cutman, he suffers until a chance encounter with a troubled junkie, played by Emily Hall, and her daughter, played by Caroline Concannon. He’s then embarks on a journey of redemption and retribution.

Fichtner is known for roles in Armageddon, Crash, Black Hawk Down and The Dark Knight, and on the TV series Prison Break. Fichtner was most recently seen starring opposite Milo Ventimiglia, Catherine Haena Kim and Sarah Wayne Callies on ABC’s The Company You Keep. 

Emily Hall was previously in Animal Kingdom for TNT and Leverage: Redemption for Amazon/Freevee.
